Asia Regional Meeting of the CVF in the Philippines
The fourth CVF regional meeting began on Wednesday, 20 May in Manila, the Philippines, together with support from the local United Nations Development Programme office. Ms. Bernadette Fernandez, a senior representative of the host country’s Department of Foreign Affairs, made the opening remarks. The technical regional activity for Asia is a two-day event gathering leading government climate change policy experts from countries across the region, including Afghanistan, Cambodia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Representatives from a range of international organizations are also participating. The meeting aims to identify and promote headline climate change policy priorities for vulnerable developing countries of the region.
