The Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) was launched over 10 years ago, by then President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives, and has been operating since then with a different head of government in charge of it for a two-year tenure.

Background
The CVF is the international forum for countries most threatened by climate change. It represents some 1.2 billion people worldwide.
Establishment
The CVF first met near Male’, Maldives in November 2009, gathering Heads of State, Ministers and other government leaders representing countries threatened by climate change.
Purpose
The CVF is an action partnership of the world’s most climate threatened nations working to mobilize ambitious efforts to combat the global climate emergency.
